Egypt operates one of Africa's largest and oldest railway networks. Supco Canada is a proud long-term supplier to both the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) and the Egyptian Railways Maintenance and Services company (ERMAS) — Egypt's two primary state-owned railway organizations. ENR, headquartered in Cairo, manages over 5,000 km of railway track and operates one of the largest locomotive fleets on the African continent, primarily powered by EMD® and GE® diesel-electric platforms. ERMAS (Egyptian Railways Maintenance and Services), located in the El Sabteya district of Cairo, specializes in traction motor and generator overhaul. Supco Canada maintains a dedicated representative office within the ERMAS facility, providing on-the-ground after-sales service, technical support, and direct coordination with maintenance teams. This office serves as our regional hub for the broader Middle East, actively supporting after-sales requirements and technical engagements across the region — including Saudi Arabia, where we also maintain an active presence. Supco Canada also holds the exclusive distributorship for Miller Ingenuity products in Egypt — the only source in the country for Miller Ingenuity's locomotive truck wear parts, traction motor gear case seals, springs, and safety-critical components. Our supply to ENR and ERMAS is backed by full quality traceability under our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system.
