Our Approach to Quality

Supco Canada is committed to supplying components that meet our customers' expectations. Our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system guides our processes from incoming inspection through to final packaging and shipment.

OEM Specification Reference

Components are manufactured and inspected with reference to original equipment manufacturer specifications and drawings.

Inspection & Documentation

Each shipment is accompanied by relevant quality documentation as part of our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.

Continuous Improvement

Our quality management system includes processes for ongoing review and improvement of our operations.

Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship

Supco Canada's core business — remanufacturing and aftermarket supply — is inherently sustainable. By restoring used components rather than manufacturing entirely new ones, we reduce the raw material, energy, and waste associated with locomotive maintenance. Beyond our remanufacturing model, we take active steps to minimise our environmental footprint.

♻️

Remanufacturing

Core remanufacturing recovers up to 80% of a component's material value, dramatically reducing the need for new raw materials and manufacturing energy.

🏭

Waste Reduction

Machining chips, copper scrap, and worn insulation materials are sorted and sent to certified recyclers. We target zero-to-landfill for metallic scrap.

🔋

Energy Efficiency

Our facility uses energy-efficient lighting and equipment scheduling to reduce peak electrical demand and overall energy consumption.

📄

Responsible Sourcing

Approved suppliers are evaluated for quality and responsible business practices. Material certifications confirm that raw materials meet environmental standards.

Environmental Commitment: Supco Canada is committed to continual environmental improvement. We review our environmental performance as part of our annual management review process under ISO 9001:2015.

Responsible Supply Chain Management

The quality of our products depends on the quality of our supply chain. Supco Canada maintains an Approved Vendor List (AVL) and requires documented quality controls from all critical material suppliers.

Supply Chain Element Supco Canada Requirement
Approved Vendor List (AVL) All critical material suppliers are evaluated and approved before use. Annual review of supplier performance.
Material Certifications Mill certificates and material test reports (MTR) are required for all structural and conductive materials.
Conflict Minerals Supco Canada supports responsible sourcing principles and works with suppliers committed to conflict-free mineral sourcing.
Counterfeit Parts Prevention Incoming materials are inspected and verified. Suspect counterfeit materials trigger immediate quarantine and supplier investigation.
Supplier Audits Key suppliers are subject to quality audits. Audit findings drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
Traceability Material traceability is maintained from incoming stock through production and shipment, enabling full recall traceability if required.
